No, why that? Every industial brewery "stir" the beer in the Whirlpool. You
should not try to stir the wort foamy!! A few turns in the kettle are enough.
Otherwise you can use a lid.

Cardboard tasting beer; interesting taste I think. I thought oxidized (?) beer
taste like Pumpernickel?!?
